Tonight's Park after Dark at the Piedmont Community Park is one of my favorite classes: Fight Club™! If you've never been to Fight Club™ you might be wondering
What is Fight Club™?
Do I really have to fight?
Will I get hurt?
Can I talk about it?
Fight Club™ is essentially a cardio kickboxing workout, but it's so much more fun. The traditional kickboxing moves--jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, kicks, blocks, etc.--are synced to music. This serves three main purposes:
It makes the moves easier to follow (and more energetic) since you move to the beat.
It makes the workout more exciting since it's not just endless reps building onto a routine.
It's super fun because it *almost* feels like dancing. If you like dance fitness, you'll love Fight Club™ because you move to the music. If you think dancing is awkward, you'll love Fight Club™ because you're kickboxing, not dancing.
This is a high-energy class that's sure to burn a lot of calories, but don't let that scare you. Every move can be modified, and you work at an intensity level that's right for you. You don't have to actually fight; since it's not really fighting, if you listen to the cues, you shouldn't get hurt; and go on and talk about it!!
I've added the March/April Fight Club™ playlist below so you can get a feel for what we're doing. If you've been around enough to remember the moves, you can use this playlist at home to do your own workout (but I still want to see you tonight).
Join me at 7:45 p.m. at the Piedmont Community Park. Fight Club is only $5, payable by cash, Venmo, or Cash App (contact me for information), or you can book and pay online by credit card or PayPal (cash, Venmo, and Cash App are preferred).
