One class that I've really missed teaching is body sculpting. I think you can't overestimate the importance of strength training. However, since I'm not teaching inside a facility, and I can't provide weights for everyone, it has taken me some time to figure out how I wanted to incorporate strength training without forcing people to lug several sets of dumbbells around.
Well, I've done it, and I am unveiling this new class to you this week (some of you got a sneak preview on Saturday, and the response was positive). Get Pumped™ uses light dumbbells and syncs common strength training exercises to the beat of the music. This low-weight, high-rep sculpting workout will challenge your muscles, but keep you energized and having fun by working with the music--it's almost like dancing with dumbbells. Over the weekend, I put the final touches on my playlist and workout choreography, and I know you're going to really love this workout. I have a feeling it's going to give Fight Club™ a run for the money as crowd favorite.
You can catch Get Pumped™ twice this week: Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m. will be the first ever Get Pumped™ class at Park after Dark at the Piedmont Community Park. Cost is $5 to attend, payable by cash, Venmo, or Cash App. If you miss it, or you just love it so much you want to come back for more, we'll be doing it again Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the Piedmont Public Library. Friday's class is FREE as part of the Piedmont Health Literacy program. Bring a pair of light dumbbells (3-5 pounds) if you have them.
And now, to help you get pumped for Get Pumped™, here's a sneak preview of the playlist:
