I'm really excited about the March schedule. We're going to start having warmer weather, and it's so fun to work out outside when the sun starts hanging around a little longer.
Our March schedule includes a few extras as well. On March 6, I'll be hosting a Zumba® class to raise funds for DUCK Week. All proceeds from the class will go to DUCK Week to help with medical expenses for a couple of community members (one of whom is a former co-worker of mine) battling cancer. This class has a suggested minimum donation of $5, but any amount--smaller or greater--is appreciated.
During the week of Spring Break, the Piedmont Public Library will be hosting some free kids' fitness classes. On Thursday, March 17, I'll be hosting Zumba Kids/Kids Jr.® at 10:00 a.m. Wear your green and come dance and play with me!
Next up is our HOT for Summer challenge!! I'm so excited about this 12-week fitness challenge that gives you enough time to see dramatic physical change just in time to start your summer! We'll start on March 20, right after Spring Break, and continue a full 12 weeks until June 4. This challenge will include 12 weeks of 3x weekly workouts on MWF at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays will be strength-focused workouts, and Fridays will be core and cardio-focused. There will be cash prizes available in the following categories: physical transformation, attendance (and the free library classes on TuThSa count toward your attendance points!), and best teammate/supporter (as determined by my own observations and anonymous vote). The private challenge group will offer general nutrition/weight management support, but for those who wish to dial into nutrition further, personal macro coaching will be available as an add-on for $50/month, which includes the cost of the tracking app. Limited spaces are available for macro coaching to ensure each participant gets the close personal guidance he or she needs. The enrollment fee for this 3-month challenge is $225. The value of the cash prizes depend upon the number of participants who enroll. Because I'm going to be investing so much time and energy into the HOT for Summer challenge, this is going to be the first month since October that I'm not going to officially offer a monthly challenge. For those who like the monthly challenges and wish to continue, I'm going to personally be starting the Couch to 5K program again.
